Kinesiology is the study of the mechanics of the human body. Our degrees prepare students by providing the scientific foundations necessary to successfully transfer & pursue a degree in the area of Kinesiology at a four-year university. The AS Kinesiology lays the groundwork for a career as a physical therapist or athletic trainer, while the AA Kinesiology degree sets the student up for direct entry work into the fitness/sports market or education instruction.

Associate of Science (AS) in Kinesiology

The AS Kinesiology (KINE) degree is designed for students on a physical therapy or athletic training pathway at a university. As KINE students must work with an advisor to determine transferrable course work, this program is not tailored for direct entry work into the fitness/sports job markets or K-12 physical education teaching certification.

Associate of Arts (AA) in Kinesiology

The AA Kinesiology (KINE) degree is designed for direct entry work into the fitness/sports job markets and K-12 physical education teaching certification. As KINE students must work with an advisor to determine transferrable course work, this program is not tailored for students on physical therapy, athletic training or high school pathways.

Associate of Science (AS) in Kinesiology

The AS Kinesiology degree can transfer to Texas A&M Central Texas (Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology & Human Performance), Texas State (Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science in Pre-Rehabilitation Science) and Tarleton State (Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology).

Associate of Arts (AA) in Kinesiology

The AA Kinesiology degree can transfer to Texas State (Bachelor of Science with a Sports Media Concentration), Tarleton State (Bachelor of Science in Sports Management) and Texas A&M College Station (Bachelor of Science in Sport Management or Recreation Sciences).
