Vocational Nursing

The Temple College Vocational Nursing program leads to a certificate of completion and allow graduates to apply to take the state licensing exam for vocational nursing (LVN). Currently, the program consists of three consecutive semesters. All coursework is provided within the Nursing Department except BIOL 2401 - Anatomy & Physiology I and BIOL 2402 - Anatomy & Physiology II.

  3. Review the following documents then complete the application below

 Clinical Affiliates

The program uses several settings to provide the nursing students with a variety of clinical experiences. Several hospitals in the area are utilized including Baylor Scott and White Health and the Central Texas Veteran’s Health Care System.

In addition to the hospital-based experiences, vocational nursing students also have opportunities to practice clinical skills in a number of local nursing homes and long-term care facilities as well as outpatient clinics and community health organizations.

All of these experiences help prepare VN students for the workplace environment.
