Temple College President to Speak Alongside Some of Nation’s Biggest Voices At Texas Tribune Festival
Temple College President Dr. Christy Ponce will be a featured panelist and speaker Friday at the 2022 Texas Tribune Festival in Austin. The festival is The Tribune’s signature annual ideas conference featuring some of the biggest names in politics, policy, education and the media.
The Temple College family is grieving the recent loss of Dr. Marvin R. Felder, Temple College’s longest-serving president from 1973-1995.
Temple College is offering Polysomnography Technician (sleep technologist) training Sept. 12-Nov. 9. Scholarships and grant opportunities are available, and the course could be free for eligible students. Classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
The Temple College Foundation hosted the 2022 Scholarship Reception Aug. 24 to honor 304 students who received a total of 323 scholarships this year and to say “Thank you” to the many donors who provided the funding.

Temple College’s Women’s Volleyball Team is opening the 2022-23 season this week with new head coach Rachel Melancon. The Leopards’ first home match is a scrimmage against Texas Wesleyan at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Temple College Gymnasium.
Temple College’s Adult Education and Literacy program has scholarships available for training and certification in Customer Service Support (CSS). While this program is open to anyone, the curriculum is ESL Level 3 or higher friendly.
