Temple College is hosting a bilingual informational event for prospective first-generation college students on Wednesday, June 23, at 6 p.m. in Room 1460 of the One College Centre building.

The event is being sponsored by the college’s student chapter of LULAC and the Temple LULAC Councils 4971 and 22196. Topics covered will include how to enroll in college, how to apply for financial aid, and how to pay for college.

Current and prospective first-generation college students and their parents are invited to attend, including those who are Dreamers or undocumented students.

“Being a first-generation college student represents progress for a family,” said LULAC president Erica Mendoza. “We want to provide students with information they need to start or continue their education, and we want them to know that Temple College is here to support them.”

Those who attend are asked to bring a computer if possible. Refreshments will be served.
