The Temple College Business and Continuing Education Division is offering two courses this spring for residents who would like to learn more about how computers work or become information technology professionals.

The 8-week COMPTIA™ IT Fundamentals (ITF+) class will meet virtually on Monday and Wednesday evenings from March 22 through May 12.

This class provides an introduction to computers and can be a great starting point for a career in information technology. Topics covered include the components of a computer and how they work together, how to install and set up programs, how to work with networks and the internet, and computer safety and maintenance.

The fee for this course is $1,049 and includes a voucher for the COMPTIA™ IT Fundamentals (ITF+) Exam.

The 16-week COMPTIA™ A+ class will meet virtually on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from March 23 through July 15.

CompTIA™ A+ certification is the industry standard for IT professionals. This course will prepare students to complete both exams for the CompTIA™ A+ Certification – Exams 220-1001 and 220-1002. Topics covered include detailed lessons on all the components of computers, how to install and maintain different operating systems, wired and wireless networking, portable computing and mobile devices, and system security.

The fee for this course is $2,249 and includes vouchers for both certification exams.

Financial assistance both these CompTIA™ courses may be available for residents who need to train for a new career because they were impacted by COVID-19.
