The Colwell Family Fine Arts Scholarship was established in fall 2019 by Adelaide Sherwood Skelly Colwell. Adelaide was originally from Pampa, Texas. She and her husband, Walter, raised two children who both earned music degrees – Anne Colwell Clemons was an elementary music teacher for Belton ISD for many years and Brent Colwell was a band director for 36 years, retiring from Temple College in 2020.
The scholarship will rotate among students studying visual arts and performing arts. Anyone who would like to contribute to the scholarship may do so online at https://foundation.templejc.edu/donations/colwell-scholarship/.
