The Temple College Orchestra will perform a concert of classical treats on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center.
Musical selections for full orchestra will include Hungarian Dances No. 5 and No. 6 by Johannes Brahms, Suite No. 1 from “Carmen” by Georges Bizet, and “Sicilienne” by Gabriel Faure for harp, flute and strings.
Selected members of the orchestra also will present Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” a multi-movement piece for chamber orchestra, chorus and vocal soloists that is based on the traditional “Gloria” from the Latin Mass. Featured soloists will be Teri Johnson, Penny Hogan, Sara Harris Baker, Priscilla Santana and Katie Rachal.
In an effort to raise money for student music scholarships, admission to the concert is $5 for adults. Children and students are free.
