The Temple College Biology Department and the Temple College Science Club are hosting a seminar on Tuesday, April 17, at 6 p.m. in Room 301 of the Newton Science Building.

The seminar will feature a talk by Temple College Biology Professor Kimberley Clawson titled “Direct to Consumer DNA Testing – To Do or Not to Do?“

Clawson will explain what direct-to-consumer genetic testing is and what kind of information is provided from this type of testing. She also will discuss the pros and cons of DNA testing and will provide a list of things to consider before purchasing genetic testing.

Clawson earned her undergraduate degree in biology from The University of Texas at Austin and holds a master’s degree in teaching in biology from Tarleton State University.

The seminar is free and open to the public.
