Two Temple College students have been named to the 2017 All-Texas Academic Team.

The All-Texas Academic Team awards are given annually to two-year college students who are nominated by their faculty members for outstanding academic achievement, community service and leadership. This year’s recipients were honored at a ceremony that was held in Austin March 24.

The Temple College students who were honored this year were David Johnson and Darnell Wilson.

Johnson is studying accounting at the East Williamson County Higher Education Center (EWCHEC) in Hutto and is a member of Temple College’s Lambda Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community colleges.

Wilson is studying business administration at the campus in Temple and is president of the college’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter.  He also serves as treasurer of the Student Government Association. Upon graduating with an associate degree in business administration, Wilson hopes to transfer to the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and earn a degree in finance.
