Office Assistant

Job Description

Assist with basic clerical duties such as answering phones, copying, data entry, taking accurate messages, and filing; computer usage, running errands, delivering messages, greeting students, faculty, and the public. Assist with checking students in and out , schedule appointments, checking IDs, and answer general questions. Preform other duties as assigned and provide overall support of the department.

Required Skills

Must be dependable and punctual. Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office Suites (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), comfortable working with general public, strong customer service skills and general knowledge of Adult Education and Learning. Individual must be capable of following a list of duties with minor supervision.

Office Assistant

Job Description

Greets students and/or visitors, checks them in at the front desk, and determines the nature of their concerns. Answers incoming telephone calls, takes detailed messages or transfers to the appropriate personnel. Schedules pantry visitors and ensures timely distribution of pantry services. Sorts mail, does light typing, runs errands around campus as needed, and performs other administrative duties as required. The work study student is expected to be dependable, perform duties accurately and efficiently with direction, represent the success coach program in a professional manner and take initiative to occupy time wisely. Assists with other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs (such as Outlook, Excel, Word). Must be physically able to lift and move objects in preparation for events. Must have a professional demeanor, an ability to follow instructions and enjoy working.

Family Literacy and Community Service Aide

Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Working directly with Kindergarten through Eighth-grade students to improve their reading and math proficiency skills. Perform one-on-one work with individual students, small workgroups, and/or class activities. Collaborate with teachers, and after-school program coordinators to assess students’ needs. Submit timesheets for tutors. Duties may vary depending on the needs of the department The Family Literacy Program Aide position encompasses a variety of fun and engaging tasks that will support the optimal development of disadvantaged young children through the gift of the love of reading.

Community Service project is designed to improve the quality of life for community residents in local nonprofit, governmental, and community-based organizations.

*This position will require remote work and in-person activities.
