Professional Experience

Dr. Xenakis’s thirty-year-plus nursing career has spanned roles and responsibilities as charge nurse, nursing director, nurse manager, clinical nurse research coordinator, staff nurse, childbirth educator, keynote speaker, and author. Her service has included medical, surgical, pediatrics, and obstetrics within acute and ambulatory settings. 

Dr. Xenakis has cohosted two weekly radio programs with Dr. Alan Xenakis on NPR’s affiliated station KAMU-FM 90.9 in College Station Texas, Xpress with Doc X MD and Audra RN© focused on discussing ethical dilemmas in a variety of interests. Twice weekly during NPR’s Morning Edition, Dr. Xenakis co-hosted and co-produced Doc X MD and Audra RN Funny Feelings©. These vignettes are three-minute audios that bring answers to mind, body, and behavior puzzlers on “why we do what we do”
