What is the TRIO Program?

• The TRIO Program at TC is a federally funded program to increase the number of students who stay in college and graduate or transfer to a four-year institution.

What services are offered by the TRIO Program?

• Academic support to all students participating in the program
  • Academic advising
  • Counseling services
  • Special workshops and field trips
  • Tutoring services (including writing, reading, math, science)
  • Computer learning programs
  • Study skills instruction
• Each student is assigned a faculty, staff or community mentor
• A Learning Lab complete with computers, Internet access, printers, and study tables is available for student use. The facility is structured to provide each student with a comfortable environment conducive to study.
• Students may also qualify for additional financial assistance

Who is eligible?

• Students who have been accepted at or are currently attending TC
• First-generation college students. (This means that neither parent has received a BA or BS degree from a four-year college or university.) or
• Individuals with disabilities or
• Students who meet income criteria set forth by the US Dept of Education
• Participants must be citizens of the United States or permanent residents.
