TRIO PROGRAMS Center for Educational Advancement
- What is the TRIO Program?
- The TRIO Program at TC is a federally funded program to increase the number of students who stay in college and graduate or transfer to a four-year institution.
- What services are offered by the TRIO Program?
- Academic support to all students participating in the program
- Academic advising
- Counseling services
- Special workshops and field trips
- Tutoring services (including writing, reading, math, science)
- Computer learning programs
- Study skills instruction
- Each student is assigned a faculty, staff or community mentor
- A Learning Lab complete with computers, Internet access, printers, and study tables is available for student use. The facility is structured to provide each student with a comfortable environment conducive to study.
- Students may also qualify for additional financial assistance
- Who is eligible?
- Students who have been accepted at or are currently attending TC
- First-generation college students. (This means that neither parent has received a BA or BS degree from a four-year college or university.)
or
- Individuals with disabilities
or
- Students who meet income criteria set forth by the US Dept of Education
- Participants must be citizens of the United States or permanent residents.
