THEA Quick Test

The THEA Quick Test (THEA QT) is one of the tests administered for Texas Success Initiative (TSI) purposes. The THEA Test is a paper/pencil test. There are three parts to the test – Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. First time examinees should take all parts. Examinees retesting or those who are exempt from one or more sections may take only the parts needed. Each time an examinee takes the THEA Test, even if it is only one part, the examinee is considered having taken the entire test and must wait at least 30 days before testing again.

Students may be exempt from the THEA Test based on ACT, SAT or 11-grade TAKS scores or other criteria for exemptions. The Temple College TSI Plan has information needed to determine whether students meet exemption criteria or whether students need to test.

The THEA QT is open to anyone who wishes to take the test. This test is not limited to Temple College students.
