Financial Aid Scholarships

Temple College Scholarships

Temple College offers a number of awards to students with special skills in the area of speech, drama, music, honors, and athletics. Students who are interested in scholarships in these areas should contact the department chair. Names and addresses for department chairs can be obtained through the Temple College website. In addition, all valedictorians and salutatorians from accredited high schools in Texas receive a one year tuition and fees scholarship for the Fall and Spring semesters immediately following graduation.

Private Donor Scholarships

Outstanding students and students in need are selected to receive financial assistance by individuals, organizations, or businesses. Some of these recipients are chosen by the Financial Aid Office but most are selected directly by the donors. Eligibility for most of these scholarships is based on scholastic achievement and financial need. General scholarship applications can be printed from the Financial Aid webpage and have a deadline of April 1 each year for the following academic year. Students receiving scholarships and whose funds have been received by the college will have a credit added to their student account. Tuition, fees, and books will be deducted from the proceeds. If a balance remains, a check will be mailed to the student on the same schedule as Financial Aid balance checks.

Implementation of SB 1325

State Law requires that each student identify any relationship to an institution's current Board of Trustees member. A student who is related to a current member of the governing board of that institution is prohibited from receiving scholarships unless the scholarship is awarded exclusively based on academic merit or is an athletic scholarship. Scholarship applicants will be asked to file a statement regarding their relation to any Temple College Board of Trustee member.
