TC Saxophone Day

The Temple College Performing Arts Department will host the 3rd Annual Temple College Saxophone Day on Saturday, Nov.14.

The event will once again feature The Elision Saxophone Quartet as Ensemble-in-Residence, providing the clinics and master classes, as well as the final part of the concluding concert. Saxophone Day provides an invaluable educational experience as students will receive intensive training in saxophone performance topics, as well as master class instruction in the final preparation of the TMEA/ATSSB All-State etudes. New for this year are sessions for middle school students and jazz performance, as well as a technology forum.

The concluding concert featuring the Temple College Saxophone Choir and the Elision Saxophone Quartet will begin at 4 p.m. in the Jackson-Graeter Backstage Theater in the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.

Members of the TC Saxophone Choir are Jeremy Ledoux, soprano; Nestor Rios and Sarah Parks, altos; William Kummer and Robert Zamudio, tenors, and Lavelle Florence, baritone. The TC Saxophone Choir is conducted by Dr. Colin Mason, chair, Department of Performing Arts and instructor of music."

The Elision Saxophone Quartet captivates audiences with an entertaining mixture of Classical, Latin, Jazz, Popular, and World Music styles. Arrangements of selections by J. S.
