A new continuing education class available in spring 2020 offers the opportunity to learn black a... The Temple College Business and Continuing Education Division is offering three personal enrichment classes this spring.

A semester-long photography class will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 3:45 p.m. beginning Jan. 13 and ending May 8. The fee for this course is $321.

This course is an introduction to black and white photography as an artistic medium. Participants will learn fundamental photographic theory, methods, materials and equipment. Classroom and lab work will address the craft, aesthetics and history of black and white photography by utilizing traditional techniques and devices such as exposure/development of negatives, printing and general darkroom procedures, and finishing/presentation. Participants must provide a film camera.

A semester-long yoga class will be offered Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 21 and ending June 2. The fee for this course is $90. Participants must bring their own mats.

A class on Beginning Jewelry Making and Design will be offered Thursday evenings beginning March 19 and ending April 3. This three-part class will give participants the basic skills and knowledge required to begin creating unique, one-of-a kind jewelry pieces. Topics covered will include beginning jewelry design, tool and materials selection, and basic color theory. Students will complete three projects in class, including necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Hands-on skills and techniques learned will include bead stringing on thread and beading wire, finishing knots and crimping, basic wire wrapping, working with chain and findings, and troubleshooting common problems. A supply list for each project will be supplied upon registration. The fee for this course is $90.
