The Temple College Adult Education and Literacy program is offering an Entrepreneurship and Small Business class beginning Oct. 21.

The class is designed for residents interested in starting their own business. Topics covered will include how to create and present a business plan, creating short-term and long-term business goals, legalizing a business in the state of Texas, business start-up costs and expenses, marketing strategies, and how to set your business apart from your competitors.

The course is valued at $1,650, but is free to residents who qualify. Anyone interested in attending the class must register and complete a three-hour assessment test by Oct. 16. The class will meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 21 and ending Dec. 11.

Students who complete the class are eligible to take the Entrepreneurship and Small Business certification exam offered by Certiport. Cost of the certification exam also will be covered for qualifying students.
