TWU Temple College has partnered with Texas Woman’s University to create an opportunity for students to complete a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree while simultaneously completing the Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene degree from Temple College.

Interested students must be accepted into the Temple College Dental Hygiene Program and have completed their core curriculum courses at Temple College prior to applying to the TWU program.

“This is a great opportunity for our Temple College dental hygiene students to be able to further their education while here at Temple College,” said Melissa Machalek, chair of the Dental Hygiene program. “Earning a bachelor’s degree can lead to a variety of job opportunities outside of the typical clinical practice setting. There are many other career opportunities for dental hygienists with bachelor’s degrees, such as education, sales, marketing, consulting and research.”

The dual enrollment program with Texas Woman’s University is online and requires students to be enrolled in 14-16 hours a semester. Machalek said she recommends that students not try to work while they are enrolled in the program, if possible.
