Guitar instructor Jacob Wise will give a recital Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 12:30 p.m. in the Jackson-Graeter Backstage Theatre.

The concert will feature original compositions by Wise, as well as jazz classics by Thelonious Monk and Chick Corea. Wise will be accompanied by Lewis McMahon on bass and Norm Bergeron on drums.

A native of Austin, Wise received his musical education at the University of North Texas, where he received an M.M. in Jazz Studies and was a member of the renowned One O’Clock Lab Band and a graduate teaching fellow. He spent four years working in the show band aboard Princess Cruises, traveling the world and visiting more than 30 countries.

At Temple College, Wise teaches private guitar lessons and performs in the faculty jazz ensemble. He also teaches in his private studio, helping students aged 7-70 learn styles ranging from classical to rock and blues.
