Handbook of Texas Online
The Handbook of Texas Online is a multidisciplinary encyclopedia of Texas history, geography, and culture. It comprises more than 23,000 articles on people, places, events, historical themes, institutions, and a host of other topic categories.
The Library of Texas
The Library of Texas at LibraryofTexas.org is a new service offered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission that is as big and wide as Texas itself. This service allows users of public, academic, and clinical medicine libraries to easily discover and retrieve desired information from multiple library catalogs, databases, and other knowledge collections without having to use each individual library's interface. At present, the Library of Texas searches through the catalogs of 63 public libraries, 26 academic libraries, and 40 TexShare commercial databases.
Texas Reference Center
Texas Reference Center provides full text for more than 1,700 general periodicals covering a broad range of disciplines including general reference, business, education, health, general science, multi-cultural issues and much more.
Texas Digital Sanborn Maps
These digitized maps provide detailed property and land-use records that depicts the architecture of more than 12,000 U.S. towns and cities throughout the past one hundred years. The maps enable researchers to trace the architectural history of individual buildings or entire communities. Search for the maps by typing in the state or community. One a map is obtained, they pinpoint the streets, landmarks, and other places noted in the map's index. Once displayed, the maps can be manipulated, expanded, printed, and downloaded.
