Temple College 'adopted' the existing Scott & White EMS Education program in the 1998, with the classes beginning in the Fall of 1998. This move was made in order to better serve our students by offering them college credit for their coursework and making the AAS degree available.
Scott & White operated a very successful program for over 10 years. We continue to maintain close ties with them through clinical and field internships, as well as their active involvement with our advisory committee. Our medical director is also a Scott & White Emergency Medicine physician. Many of the EMTs and paramedics working today in the Central Texas community are our graduates.
We believe in the abilities of our students and are committed to encouraging and developing the strengths that they bring to our program. While our faculty are very knowledgeable and experienced, the true measure of the success of any of our classes is the active participation of our students. We are proud of our responsibilty to foster the leadership abilities that arise from that participation and are convinced that our students benefit from the experience and knowledge of their classmates.
We believe that we must be accessible to our students. While we maintain office hours, we look forward to seeing our students in the hospital and field as they do their internships. Please feel free to contact us.
We believe that we have an obligation to promote our profession. Each of us have benefited from EMS and we have a resposibility to continue the development of our field. We are active in professional associations and actively participate in regional and state committees.
