John Gonzales has been involved in Healthcare since 1992 when he first became an EMT-B while serving in the US Army.  John worked at Raymond W. Bliss Army Medical Center in the Emergency Department/Ambulance Section while also moonlighting as an EMT-B for Sierra Vista Fire Department on his off duty time.

After seven years in the Army as a Medic and EMT-B, John decided to leave the Army and pursue a career outside of the Armed Forces.  John began taking classes at ACC while trying to determine what he wanted to do with his life.  He began working at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic and later Brackenridge IMC and Seton ER as a Tech.  While working as a Tech at Seton ER, John was reunited with the EMS community which sparked a renewed interest in EMS.  While working full time at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic as a mid-level manager, John enrolled in the Temple College EMS Professions EMT-B Program and later completed the Temple College EMS Professions Paramedic Program graduating in December of 2004.

John Currently works full time for Williamson County EMS as the Captain in the Clinical Practices Department.  He has been teaching for Temple College since 2006.

John is currently a Licensed Paramedic, BLS Instructor, PALS and ACLS Instructor, PHTLS Instructor as well as an EMS Instructor. He enjoys teaching and preparing others for entering the ever changing and exciting world of E M S!
