A course in a system of protocols for management of the pediatric patient experiencing difficulties in medical and/or trauma-related emergencies. Prerequisites: EMSP 2434, 2430, 2160. Corequisites: EMSP 2143, 2135, 2338, 1149, 2460.
Intense skill development in emergency field management, systematic rapid assessment, resuscitation, packaging, and transportation of trauma patients. Introduction to the level of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Basic. Includes all skills necessary to provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an ambulance service or other specialized services.
