The Loaner Computer Program

This program is provided for students who are in need of a desktop computer during the semester. Loaner computers can be checked out anytime of the school year during office hours. Paperwork must be renewed each semester.

Fall & Spring Hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Friday from 8 am – 12 pm
Summer Office Hours are: Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

  • All computers have Windows XP, Star Office 8 and AVG antivirus installed on them.
  • The computers remain the property of Temple College and must be returned to the College in essentially the same condition as when signed for.
  • An administrative hold will be placed on your academic record for non-returned systems. Lost/non-returned/damaged systems are valued at $200.00.
  • The system is being provided primarily for student school work and will not be used in any manner which would be illegal, unethical, immoral, or reflect badly on the College or the student.

Computer Refurbishing and Redistribution

Temple College has undertaken a project to refurbish and redistribute donated PC computers back into the community. Some of the “new” systems go to our students for their use at college. They are able to borrow a system on a semester-by-semester basis to help with their classes. From May 2006 to May 2007 some 250 loans were made to our students.

Other systems have gone back into the community through various public service organizations. The Temple-Belton Central Texas Housing Consortium has received over 200 systems, helping their clients with computer training and using the systems to improve their lives. Other systems have gone to church groups, various drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, and even outside the
