General Lab Directions
Note: There is not enough time in lecture to cover all
the material; read your book BEFORE you begin the lab
•Note: Please read the related overview material before continuing
Check with your Instructor for due date, typically Friday, 11:59PM (see due
dates)
Part 1 Duplicate my "Burger" PowerPoint
Presentation, yourname-test.pptx (details below)
Part 2 Create a new PowerPoint Presentation named yourname-show.pptx (details below)
Part 3 Complete Quiz for the Practical PC book for Chapter 13/6
(The single quiz pulls questions from both chapters 6 AND 13)
You do NOT need to search for, or create a tracking disk, you will use the D2L quizzes...
Choose cancel when prompted to create a tracking disk, and choose continue if warned about tracking
You may take each D2L quiz on the Practical PC chapters twice, so if you have a typo and get a poor score... do it again
Part 1: Duplicate my "Burger" PowerPoint
Presentation,
(scroll down, or open in a separate window here)
with transition and image added,
called yourname-test.pptx, saved in a folder named lab7
(If you have already read the steps, you way watch a video on PowerPoint)
Part 2: Make a PowerPoint presentation on the topic of your choice*
(*do not use the same topic as your capstone project though...
as you will create a separate PowerPoint for that as part of lab 9/10).
This part of Lab 7 must include the following:
(5%) Title slide
(5%) Overview slide
(15%) at least three detail slides... one major idea per slide, and enough bullets
to explain it
(5%) Recap and Conclusion slide
(5%) Either create or use a design template
(5%) Insert at least one clip art or image
(5%) Use at least one transition
(15%) Uses good design (see Tips page)
(10% or more) Interesting
(15%) Saved as yourname-show.pptx in the folder named lab7
(15%) zip lab7 (with yourname-test.pptx*AND yourname-show.pptx*) and submitted in D2L
*ppt is the Office 2003 format, pptx is the Office 2007/10 format

Part 3: Complete D2L quiz, includes Chapter 6 and 13
If you were told you were missing items from a previous lab, you may submit them with this lab... or resubmit the other lab.

You may watch a short video
on that illustrates parts of the activity.
Grading Criteria:
• Practical PC Quiz (30%)
•Practical PC tracking is graded by number of points correct/number
of points possible *.3
• Duplicate of PowerPoint
Example (30%)
• New PowerPoint Presentation (40%)
(Zip the entire folder that holds the lab files)
•new presentation is graded by number of points correct/number
of points possible *.4

Problems? Zip the entire folder and attach to an email:
•Send the mail to your instructor,
cc yourself
•The subject line should include
your name, your class, your section, and what you are submitting
•Make sure you attach the zipped file
1. Choose the class for which you want to drop off an assignment.
2. Find the Dropbox tool, click on it.
3. Choose the appropriate Dropbox folder, click on it.
4. Choose [Add a File], then choose [Browse]; you may need to choose (My) Computer first
5. Find the file that you would like to upload and click open, then choose [Upload]
6. Type in a short description or comment about the file, if you like.
7. Select [Add] for any additional files that may be pertinent, and repeat
8. After your files have been selected, click [Submit]. (To upload and submit you will always click at least twice)
9. Some files may take a long time to upload (especially if there
are graphics in the file).
