Most Linux installations are free
You can download many Linux installation program files from the Internet, then burn them to CD
The Graphical User Interface is an option you can choose to use Linux
You cannot easily add Linux to your computer without messing up Windows
Linux often requires a less powerful computer than Windows to run

   •Class Discussion/BFO (Blinding Flash of the Obvious): respond as directed to the following:
      The Linux GUI we use is called GNOME, but we could use KDE;
      the Command Line we use is called BASH, but we could use the C shell...
      all of these are shells to access the KERNEL.
      What is the advantage to being able to choose a shell. A disadvantage?

for Labs that require files to be electronically submitted
• select all the files required, or better, select the folder that contains all the files
• zip the required file(s) and/or folder(s)
• rename the zipped file to reflect your name and the lab being turned in
       •Example: yourname-lab1 or yourname-lab1.zip (if your extensions are visible)
