Items that should be accomplished before the beginning of the current time frame:
• Read Syllabus (pdf), syllabus appendix, Orientation, First Day Lecture (ppt), and email use
• Read DOS 1-3, Intro to Personal Computers, DOS Concepts, and DOS Commands

Reminder: Did you check your TC WebMail? Did you check the Quarantine folder?

Items to accomplish during the current course time frame:

•Read\Review
   • DOS Commands Chapter 10
   • Chapters 1-3
     • Intro to Personal Computers, disks
     • DOS Concepts, and
     • DOS Commands
     • Format, and hard disks

• Note: [Ctrl] modifies a keyboard selection into a command
• Note: [Alt] allows you to choose an alternative

•Activities
   • Guided tour ( you may want to jot down these commands and how they are used.

   • format   dir    md    cd    dir    /?    copy    type    del    rd

     • a path indicates the drive and/or the directories to use; the current path is usually part of the prompt

   •Document commands introduced in Lab 1 (You will later transfer this information into a D2L quiz)
   •Answer questions concerning topics covered in Lab 1 (You will later transfer this information into a D2L quiz)
   •Begin Lab 1

   You may watch a 3 minute video on how Lab 1 is done...

   •Complete Lab 1 and verify (You will later transfer this information into a D2L dropbox)

•Submit by 11:59 pm, Friday, of the current week (see due dates)
   • MUD 2 (My Understanding, Details) Respond in the class D2L Discussion forum to the following:
      What topics, if any, during this time frame do you feel very comfortable with? Why?
      What topics, if any, during this time frame do you not feel comfortable with?
   • Participation Discussion 2 Respond in the class D2L Discussion forum to the following:
      How can you label your disk, such as putting your name on your floppy disk, electronically?
