General Lab Directions
Note: There is not enough time in lecture to cover all the material; read your book BEFORE you begin the lab
Note: Typically labs will require you to invest some time in the lab, outside of class lecture hours

 •Check with the Instructor for the due date
 •Document the required steps/commands before you start, 30%
   • Either print the this document, and hand write new command information on it for your records
     or

   • Right click this link, and choose to Save Target As, to save the file
     and then open the document to add new command information to the file for your records.
   • As commands are covered in class, fill out this documentation.
 •Successful completion of Activity, 40%
   • To prove you finished the activity, you will either zip the folder that contains your activity,
      or
     You may need the computer to take a snapshot of what is on your screen, called a screen shot
 •Hands On, 30%
   • Typically, answering questions about the activity.

After you have done your documentation, completed the activity, and answered the questions, you submit.

 •Submit and Grading
   • Log on to Desire2Learn (D2L) at https://templejc.desire2learn.com/
      • Notes on using D2L
   • Choose the Drop box menu; click the proper lab drop box, then browse to your file, and upload.
      • Details are at the bottom of each lab, and at the bottom of this document.
   • Choose the Quizzes menu; click the proper lab.
      Answer questions about your documentation, and then
      Transfer your Hands On section answers

While the questions will be graded immediately, it may take your instructor a short time to review the Drop Box and Quizzes area. You will know when the grading process is complete when you see comments in both the Drop Box for that lab, and in the Grades area.


for Labs that require files to be electronically submitted
 • zip the required file(s) and/or folder(s)
 • rename the zipped file to reflect your name and the lab being turned in
       •Example: yourname-lab1 or yourname-lab1.zip (if your extensions are visible)

 If submitting by Temple College Desire2Learn:
       •Log into D2L, scroll to the bottom, and choose the correct course
       •When the Course Home Page appears, click on the Dropbox link.
