Question: Can I save an Adobe PDF form in Adobe Reader after I have filled it out?
Yes if, "local save" capability hasbeen enabled in your PDF form.
How do I enable 'local save?'      (Advanced\Extend Features in Adobe Reader)

Question:What is the difference between what Acrobat calls a 'link' and what we typically thing of, an Internet link?
In Acrobat, the 'link' tool takes you to another PAGE IN THE CURRECT pdf (create with Tools > Advanced Editing > Link Tool)
If you wish to have a hyperlink in a pdf file to an external web site, you have to:
1) type out the URL in your source document
2) use the Advanced > Document processing menu to Create Links from URLs.
