Selecting a group of files © R. Craig Collins, 2005

While it is easy to select one file by simply clicking on the file once with the left mouse button, on occasion you may wish to select several files that are grouped together, such as

file1.txt«
file2.txt«
file3.txt«
file4.txt«
file5.txt

If you wanted to select just the first four, you would:

  1. click once on the first file of the group
  2. press and hold the [Shift] key, then
  3. select the last file you wish to select

The block of files is now selected to delete, to copy, to move, etc.
