D2L E-mail

Used to send email to Temple College faculty and students.

D2L Locker

A small, temporary storage location for files.

D2L Dropbox

Used to submit files for courses.
Brief Instructions below, details at D2L Dropbox

1. Choose the class for which you want to drop off an assignment.
2. Find the Dropbox tool, click on it.
3. Choose the appropriate Dropbox folder, click on it.
4. Choose [Add a File], then choose [Browse]; you may need to choose (My) Computer first
5. Find the file that you would like to upload and click open, then choose [Upload]
6. Type in a short description or comment about the file, if you like.
7. Select [Add] for any additional files that may be pertinent, and repeat
8. After your files have been selected, click [Submit]. (You will always click at least twice to upload and submit)
9. Some files may take a long time to upload (especially if there are graphics in the file).

Did my file get through?
1. Go to the Dropbox tool
2. Click the number under Submissions
3. All of the assignments that have been submitted will be listed.

Discussions

Discussions let you interact with your classmates and Instructors without having to be online at the same time.
Brief instructions below, details at D2L Discussions.

Sending a message

  1. Choose the topic that you would like to post a message in.
  2. Click Compose.
  3. An area to write a message will become available.
  4. Type in your message and include a subject.
  5. Click Post.

Reading a Message

  1. Click on the topic that you would like to view.
  2. Click on the subject within the topic that you would like to view.

Replying to a Message

  1. After reading a message,
  2. At the top of the message click on Reply. A reply form will appear.
  3. In the reply form type your message.
  4. When your message is complete click Post.
Quizzes

Quizzes are where you take quizzes and tests

The Quizzes Page

Taking a Quiz

  1. Access the Quizzes page as described above.
  2. CLOSE ALL OTHER WINDOWS
  3. Choose the quiz/test you need to take.
  4. Read the summary information.
  5. Choose Start Quiz!
  6. Note the time available.
  7. Click the Save icon after answering a question (you may change saved answers).
    Note: if taking a quiz and you can't save answers; CLOSE the test without submitting.
    Go back and choose Continue Quiz.
  8. When you are through, choose Submit Quiz.
  9. Click OK as needed.
  10. You will see the raw quiz score. Note: short answer essays will be marked wrong until reviewed by instructor
  11. For Collins classes:
    I normally grade the test that night,
    Highest test sets the benchmark curve (ie 97 means everyone gets 3 points)
    Questions missed by majority do not count against you
    Don't forget, your lowest test score can be improved by doing well on that section of the final...
