General Lab Directions
Note: There is not enough time in lecture to cover all
the material; read your book BEFORE you begin the lab
Note: Typically labs will require you to invest some time in the lab, outside
of class lecture hours
•Check with the Instructor for the due date
•Document the required steps/commands/tags
before you start, 30%
•Successful completion of activity, 40%
•Hands On, 30%
Make a folder named Lab5 on your floppy or O: drive.
Right click here, then choose Save Target
as... to save in the Lab5 folder. Save this as yourname-lab5.rtf
Open Wordpad, then open yourname-lab5.rft
At the end of this process, you will be turning in answers
using the Quizzes area of Desire2Learn,
based on the following questions. So, to get the best score, fill in all the
answers in this document first.

1. Using My Computer, open your O: drive. If there is not a folder called lab5
there, create it. Changing the Desktop. c. Change the desktop back, so the Network icon is not longer on the desktop. 6. Discuss how you could change the size of the icons on your desktop. 7. Add Word to your start menu. Discuss how you did this 8. Place a floppy disk in your computer. Using My Computer, right click the
icon for the floppy. 10. Also get a screen capture of the Tools tab, and save this image below 11. Get to the point that you could 'add or remove' software or Programs in Windows. 13. Save yourname-lab5.rtf in your lab 5 folder |

In Windows, zip the entire
lab5 directory, and rename
to yourname-lab5.zip.
Log into Desire2Learn, choose
this class, choose Dropbox, and select Lab 5.
Browse to yourname-lab5.zip and upload it.
You will then transfer your answers to the D2L Quiz for lab 5.
Choose the Quizzes menu, and locate Lab 5.
for Labs that require files to be electronically
submitted
•if you have multiple files,
zip the required file(s) and/or folder(s)
• rename the
zipped file to reflect your name and the lab being turned in
•Example: yourname-lab1 or yourname-lab1.zip
(if your extensions are visible)

If submitting by Temple College Desire2Learn:
•Log into D2L, scroll to the
bottom, and choose the correct course
•When the Course Home Page appears,
click on the Dropbox link.
Dropbox directions
1. Choose the class for which you want to drop off an assignment.
2. Find the Dropbox tool, click on it.
3. Choose the appropriate Dropbox folder, click on it.
4. Choose [Add a File], then choose [Browse]; you may need to choose (My) Computer first
5. Find the file that you would like to upload and click open, then choose [Upload]
6. Type in a short description or comment about the file, if you like.
7. Select [Add] for any additional files that may be pertinent, and repeat
8. After your files have been selected, click [Upload]. (You will always click upload at least twice)
9. Some files may take a long time to upload (especially if there
are graphics in the file).
