History

The Temple College Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN) was approved by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (BNE) in 1992. The first class of 24 students started in the Fall of 1993 and graduated in May of 1995. All graduating students in the first class passed the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX) to be come Registered Nurses.

In March of 1996, a  team from the National League of Nurses (NLN) performed an on-site survey of the program. In June of 1996, the ADN Program was accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). This accredition was renewed in Spring of 2000.

The ADN Program has been awarded an exemplary rating by The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
