The TC Nursing programs are nationally recognized as commended programs by nursing accrediting agencies. The Nursing programs are housed in the Dell Martin Nursing Education Center located on the TC east campus. The classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual and computer technology to enhance the learning experience. The Simulation Center is equipped with specialized computerized manikins and models to simulate patient care situations. Nursing students also enjoy the state-of-the-art Simulation Center in the Health Sciences Center. The TC Nursing Departments offer several options for careers in nursing. The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program leads to the Associate of Applied Science degree and allows the graduate to apply to take the state licensing exams for registered nursing (RN). The program requires a minimum of two years of study. Nursing courses begin each fall semester. The Vocational Nursing (VN) program leads to a certificate of completion and allows the graduate to apply for the state licensing exams for vocational nursing (LVN). This is a 12 month program beginning each summer and finishing in May. In addition to the Temple VN program, there is a program at the Taylor Center. The Bridging Program allows LVNs to advance their education and enter the ADN program in the second year. Upon completion the graduate is awarded the Associate of Applied Science degree and may apply to take the Registered Nurse licensing exams. Admission to each of these programs is highly competitive. Each program has a specific application process with deadlines. Details may be found by clicking on the department links.
