Spring 2012 Performances
Friday, May 4 – SUZUKI SPRING CONCERT 6 – 7:30 p.m.
SUZUKI GROUP CLASSES
The Academie offers Suzuki group classes for all violin students studying with a Suzuki teacher from Pre-Twinkle through Bk. 5 and viola/cello students through Bk. 3. Additionally, the Virtuoso Violinists is offered for advanced violin students that will cover advanced techniques, some Suzuki literature and other advanced violin literature not included in the Suzuki Method repertoire. This spring, Virtuoso will participate in the CTOS sponsored Marty Lundren Master Class with world famous violinist, Rachel Barton Pines.

- Friday, May 4 – Spring Concert and Academie Fundraiser 6 – 8:30
- Saturday, May 5 – Academie Fundraiser 7 – 8:30 p.m.
For several years, the Academie Musique advanced students have participated in the annual Marty Lundgren Master Class, sponsored by the Central Texas Orchestral Society, an umbrella organization for the Cultural Activities Center in Temple. They have had the opportunity to perform and be coached by several world class artists.

Rachel Barton Pine http://www.rachelbartonpine.com/ an internationally renowned violinist will be giving a concert on Sunday, March 25 as part of the Central Orchestral Society 2011-2012 season and will be the
Marty Lundgren Master Class clinician for this year. Virtuoso Violinists has been asked to perform and we are excited about this wonderful opportunity for our students. We have made a decision to open this up to advanced violin students outside the Academie Musique program.
Both events will take place at the CAC.

Master Class:
Monday, March 26 2012 from 11am - 12:30pm
Virtuoso is performing my arrangement of Vivaldi's Summer(Presto). Auditions for interested students will be held January 5-6 by appointment only. Audition material will be excerpts from Summer.
Cost for non-Academie students will be $135 (this includes the Academie registration). There is limited scholarship help available.

Dress rehearsal will be Sunday afternoon, March 25 at the CAC.

A little bit about Virtuoso...
This group was formed to give the Academie Musique advanced violinists an opportunity to play virtuoso works that are arranged for several violinists, a totally different experience than playing chamber or orchestra music, while developing different techniques and skills that are unique to the violin.
