Lois Reiter started teaching violin in the award-winning program, The University of Texas String Project, which is the basis for the “Lab” which trains Temple College students to be string teachers.  While at UT, she received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees studying with Leonard Posner, for whom she was a graduate teaching assistant.  During her time in Austin, she was also a member of the first violin section of the Austin Symphony.

Ms. Reiter has played professionally and taught for many years. She has been in the Temple area for 17 years and was one of the three founders of the Temple Symphony Orchestra, sitting as the original Assistant Concertmaster. In 2006 she moved her violin studio to Temple College and started the Academie Musique, the pre-college division at Temple College.
