All students will need a piano or full sized keyboard at home to practice. All piano classes will be held in the Temple College Piano Lab (PAC rm. 705)

CLASS PIANO THEORY FOR CHILDREN

Children's Class Piano for Beginners at the Academie Musique teaches children basic technique and playing skills in a positive and energizing group environment. In Class Piano, children will play solo as well as gaining beneficial ensemble experience by also playing together. Rhythm, pitch accuracy, melody and performance practice are emphasized to strengthen the skills taught in private piano lessons and to help each child musically mature and to have fun while learning.

Beginning Class Piano  For Grades 2 – 4 with no musical experience


                   Minimum 2    Maximum 4
                   Instructor: Linda Gregory              Mondays from 4:30 – 5:15
                   Cost: $150 + cost of book


Class Piano/Music Theory For Grades 5 – 8 with musical experience


This class is for students who play another instrument and/or sing and would like to learn the piano as well.  There will be a strong music theory component to this class.  Students will be entered in the Texas Music Teachers Association Student Affliate and  prepare for the Student Affiliate Theory exam.

                   Minimum 4    Maximum 6
                   Instructor: Linda Gregory              Wednesdays from 5:15 – 6:00
                   Cost: $125 + cost of book

This class is for Beginners/Intermediate and teaches students basic techniques and playing skills in a positive and energizing group environment.  Students will play solo as well as gaining beneficial ensemble experience by also playing together.  There will be a strong theory element to this class including rhythm, pitch accuracy, and melody.


               Minimum 4    Maximum 6

CLASS PIANO FOR ADULTS

Beginning Class Piano for Adults (ages 16 & up)


This class is for adults who always wanted to play piano but never had the opportunity. Students will learn important music fundamentals including music reading, music theory, aural training, and ensemble playing in a relaxed, stress-free classroom setting. Classes have limited enrollment and meet one hour per week for 12 weeks each semester.
