The Medical Laboratory Technician Program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS). Developed and implemented in 1972. Offices, classroom, and well-equipped student laboratory are located on the second floor of the Math and Biomedical Science building.

The MLT program is structured to give experiences in both large and small laboratories. Affilation agreements for Clinical Sites are with four area hospitals: Scott & White Memorial Hospital, Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, King's Daughters Hospital, and King's Daughters Clinic. An Advisory Committee, including members from Temple College and each clinical institution, serves for the purpose of advisement to assure quality education. Faculty originates from Temple College and the four affiliated clinical institutions.

The patient, who expects and deserves optimum care, is the focus and the main reason for the existence of the MLT program, whose goal is to produce graduates who are qualified to serve as general practitioners of medical technology at career-entry level and who will possess the fundamental background to continue studies both formally and informally in specialty areas of the clinical laboratory sciences.

Temple College does not discriminate on the basis or race, creed, color, national origin, sex, or handicap.

NOTE: The Special Support Services Department provides access and equity for populations traditionally under-represented in higher education. It provides the opportunity for qualified students with special physical, financial or educational needs to successfully participate in a full range of college experiences. These services include Adult Education Connection, Disabilities Services, Learning Assistance Center, and Single Parent/Displaced Homemaker Program.
