- BIOTECHNOLOGY
- Biotechnology is an exciting and growing field which has been described as the "Science for the New Millennium." Biotechnology uses sophisticated laboratory techniques involving living cells and molecules to create diagnostic, pharmaceutical, medical, agricultural, environmental, and other products that benefit society.
- DENTAL HYGIENE
- The Temple College Dental Hygiene program prepares students to be primary health care professionals who specialize as oral health educators and practitioners. They provide educational, preventative, and therapeutic services in general and specialty dental practices and clinics.
- DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY
- Sonographers are highly skilled in the art of utilizing a sound beam to examine many parts of the body such as the abdomen, breasts, female reproductive system, fetus, prostate, heart, and blood vessels. Sonographers also direct and guide fine needle placement for tissue biopsy and fluid aspiration. Unlike X-rays, sonography is a radiation-free imaging modality.
- EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

care in pre-hospital settings and during transfers of patients between health care facilities.
Care that otherwise would be available only in an emergency department is taken into the
community.
- NURSING
- Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)
The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program leads to the Associate of Applied Science degree and allows the graduate to apply to take the state licensing exams for registered nursing (RN). The program requires a minimum of two years of study. Nursing courses begin each fall semester.
- Vocational Nursing (VN)
The Vocational Nursing (VN) program leads to a certificate of completion and allows the graduate to apply for the state licensing exams for vocational nursing (LVN). This is a 12 month program beginning each summer and finishing in May. In addition to the Temple VN program, there is a program at the Taylor Center.
- LVN Bridging
The Bridging Program allows LVNs to advance their education and enter the ADN program in the second year. Upon completion the graduate is awarded the Associate of Applied Science degree and may apply to take the Registered Nurse licensing exams.
- RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY
Partnership with McLennan Community College
- Temple College and McLennan Community College offer Radiologic Technology through a distance-learning partnership program. This two-year associate of applied science degree prepares students to become radiologic technologists whose primary role is to assist radiologists in the examination of patients for broken bones, ulcers, tumors, disease or malfunctions of organs within the body. Students learn the positioning, exposure, professional ethics, medical terminology, physics, procedures, and techniques of x-ray technology. Certified radiologic technologists may secure employment in hospitals, clinics, and other health care agencies.
- RESPIRATORY CARE
- Respiratory Therapists are members of the health care team who provide care for patients with
disorders of the heart and lungs. Most Respiratory Therapists work in hospitals where they perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in virtually all areas in which there are patients. They may also work in clinics, home care settings, medical equipment companies and diagnostic sleep laboratories.
- SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY
- Surgical Technologists are members of the Operating Room team who handle surgical
instruments, supplies, and equipment. They are know-ledgeable of sterile techniques. They understand surgical procedures and are able to anticipate the needs of the surgeon. Surgical Technologists work in hospitals and clinics. Temple College
