Christine Nix Christine Nix received her Bachelor of Science degree at Hardin Simmons University in 1977 and in 2004 her Master of Science degree at Sam Houston State University in Criminal Justice Management. She is currently enrolled in her third year as a Criminal Justice doctoral student at Sam Houston State University. Christine began her career in law enforcement in 1979 as a patrol officer with the City of Temple in Temple, Texas. In 1984, she graduated from the Texas Department of Public Safety as a State Trooper. After serving five and a half years in the driver's license service in Pasadena, Houston, Temple, and Waco she went on to serve five and a half years as the Region Six recruiter. In 1994, Christine promoted into the Texas Ranger Division where she served Bosque, Falls, and McLennan Counties until her retirement in October 2004. After promoting into the Texas Rangers, she was trained as a forensic hypnotist, composite artist, interviewer, interrogator, and crisis hostage negotiator. Christine is a member and past president of the Texas Association of Investigative Hypnosis and has conducted hypnosis training for other law enforcement officers. As a forensic hypnotist, she has conducted numerous forensic hypnosis interviews with crime victims and witnesses. Christine continues to connect with other law enforcement practioneers through teaching and consulting. She teaches courses of instruction in Sexual Assault and Family Violence Investigators, Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness, Crisis Intervention, and Cognitive Interviewing. She has been a presenter for the Southern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Louisiana and Texas and for the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators on cognitive and hypnosis interviews with victims and witnesses. Christine is a current member of the Southwestern Association of Criminal Justice and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Christine has been a member of her church since 1994. Her favorite biblical reference is found in Isaiah 6:8, "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here [am] I; send me."
