LAKE WACO WETLANDS PROJECT –
Students from my General Biology I class traveled to Waco to assist in
transplanting native aquatic plants into a constructed 180 acre
wetland. The City of Waco, U.S. Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Fish &
Wildlife teamed up to create the wetlands after the City of Waco
decided to raise Lake Waco by 7 feet.
FRIAR'S CREEK WETLANDS RESTORATION

Friar's Creek. The City of Temple, Baylor University, and Texas
Parks &Wildlife are involved in the restoration project.
