Students Win Art AwardsThe annual Temple College Student Art Exhibition was on display April 17 – 28 at the TC Visual Arts Complex Gallery.
A ceramic work by Celina Ball was selected for the Purchase Award at the annual Temple College Student Art Exhibition. The ceramic work titled “Decay of Autumn” will become part of the TC permanent art collection. The art faculty selected the ceramic work for the annual purchase award. Art teachers are Michael Donahue, Marianne McGrath, Dave Hansen, Pat Coufal, and John Ciaburri. Honorable mention awards were given to Djuliana Ewing for “Perception,” an oil painting; Samantha Solliday for her photo, “Keep Out,” and April Startzel for “Pile of Bones,” a sculpture. The awards were presented at the exhibition opening on April 17 by Michael Donahue, art department chair. The exhibition showcases about 100 student works from the Drawing I and II, Sculpture I and II, Ceramics I and II, Photography I and II, Design II and Art Appreciation classes.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday or by appointment during the Fall and Spring semesters. The virtual panorama of the exhibition will be available through the summer. The Visual Arts Complex is located at 2101 S. Fifth St. | ||||||
