All colleges and universities require all degree seeking students to complete a program of general education core curriculum courses. These courses serve as a foundation for all majors and will account for about 35% of the 128 total semester hours usually required for a bachelor’s degree that can be earned at a four year college or university.

Here is a link to a list of course choices that fulfill the core curriculum. It explains how many hours you will need from each category. Most of the course choices have links that will give you a general idea of what the course encompasses. Most college courses provide 3 hours of college credit on your college transcripts. The 2nd digit in any course number (ie. ENGL 1301) indicates how many hours that course will be worth.

**WARNING**
Do not assume you know it all!!

Always talk to an advisor about your course selections!! You can do that at any time (before and during all semesters) via email (advisingcenter@templejc.edu), phone (298-8331), as well as in person (2nd floor, OCC).
