General Information

When Temple Junior College opened its doors in 1926, five instructors and 97 students were there to usher in a new era in higher education for Central Texas. Now, 78 years later, Temple College has an enrollment of 3,932 with a full-time faculty of 80.

From its humble beginnings in the basement of the local high school, through today, Temple College has offered quality education at an affordable cost. The college strives to serve the needs of students with varying backgrounds and interests. TC is known for academic excellence and outstanding technical education programs.

The Temple College Foundation was created in 1982 with financial contributions from two faculty members. The Foundation's purpose is to strengthen and contribute to the academic and physical growth of the college by providing a means of receiving and administering gifts on behalf of the college. The Foundation's Board of Directors is charged with managing resources and determining appropriateness of gifts.

Gifts to the Foundation may be made in a variety of ways: outright cash gifts, memorials, special gifts, and naming the Foundation as beneficiary for life insurance or in a will. Benefactors may have their contributions placed in a general Foundation fund, or they can specify that the gift be designated for a special purpose.

The Foundation conducts an annual golf tournament, which is the kickoff event to raise scholarship money for the College. It participates in a variety of other programs and fund rasing events and recognitions throughout the year designed to heighten awareness and the financial standing of the College.

Your support of Temple College is greatly appreciated by its students, faculty, administrative and clerical staff, and the business and industries that take advantage of its educational and training programs. Your assistance will enrich the lives of all Central Texans.
