Dear Temple College Alumni and Friends, What an exciting time to be a part of Temple College's past, present, and future. Many changes are transforming Temple College into a true Center of Excellence while maintaining the tradition of putting the students first and at the center of all things that happen at Temple College. The first-ever capital campaign ($8,000,000) was launched on November 21, 2002 with six building projects and a goal to increase the endowments/scholarships funds to $1,000,000. All building projects are complete except for one, the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center. Phase I and Phase II are complete. The final phase, Phase III, is on going with a goal of $3,000,000. The endowment fund for Temple College now stands at $2.5 million. This is thanks to several generous benefactors. Our newest endowments include the Dr. Ralph Wilson, Jr. and Sharon Marie Wilson Endowment, the Rose Lindley Brasher Endowed Scholarship, William J. Matush Endowed Scholarship, Ann Chamlee Endowed Music Scholarship, Linda Green Knight Endowed Scholarship, Dr. Harry B. Macey, Jr. Endowed Scholarship, The Constance McQueen Memorial Scholarship and the Hal Ward Business/Management Endowed Scholarship. The Johnson Bros. Ford Lincoln Mercury/Temple College Foundation Golf Classic held every September raised $140,000 for scholarships in 2008. Johnson Bros. Ford Lincoln Mercury joined the Foundation as the major corporate sponsor for the annual Golf Classic in 2002. The partnership with Johnson Bros. Ford Lincoln Mercury has made a major difference in the Golf Classic. It is the kick-off event for the annual scholarship drive and is supported locally by corporations, businesses, and friends of the College. Sponsorships for the tournament range from $300 - $5,000 and above. An individual registration costs $125. The registration form is available on line. The 2009 Community Golf Committee includes: Harry Adams, Corporate Sponsor Russell T. Schneider, Community Chair Dennis Green Dana Lange Kenny McCarty Steve Wright Many new partnerships have been formed and many new donors, as well as old friends, have stepped forward to assist us as we continue on the journey toward total Centers of Excellence at Temple College.
