  Make a Gift

Cash
Cash can be donated as a lump sum or as a pledge contribution payable as designated by the donor. The contribution is tax-deductible in the year in which it is paid (your current year deduction is limited to 50% of your AGI). Any cash donation in excess of 50% of your AGI may be used as a deduction carried forward and used in up to five additional years.

Many employers offer company-matching gifts to encourage charitable giving. Check with your employer's Human Resources department to see if you can double your donation. You can obtain pledge cards by contacting the Foundation office.

Life Insurance
If you want to guarantee a sizable gift and choose to make it over a period of years, you may purchase a new policy with the Foundation as the owner and beneficiary, and pay the premiums annually. Such a plan enables you to make a significant deferred gift to the Foundation with a predictable annual payment.

You may also name the Foundation as a beneficiary on an existing life insurance policy, in a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of the death benefit, payable to the beneficiaries.

Gift of Residence with Retained Life Interest
You can make a gift to the Foundation of your personal residence, farm, ranch, cottage, condominium, or a partial interest in such property and retain a life interest for yourself or for your spouse and yourself. Such a gift provides both income and estate tax advantages. You will receive a charitable deduction in the year the property is deeded to the Foundation. In addition, the property is removed from your estate tax purposes. During your lifetime, you may enjoy the use of the property, but you may not sell or mortgage your interest. Upon the death of the survivor of you and your spouse, the property passes to the Foundation.

General Information
The Temple College (TC) Foundation is organized and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Any potential contribution you make may result in considerable tax benefits to you as a donor; however, the nature and extent of any benefits depend upon the manner in which the gift is made.

For more information regarding making a gift, please contact the Foundation office through e-mail at rbhauser@templejc.edu or by phone at (254) 298-8592.
