Over the last 79 years, the college has grown from holding classes in the basement of Temple High School to a sprawling campus that serves a growing population of more than 7000 college students and continuing education students for workforce training. Due to its many growing programs and reputation for being a Center of Excellence, Temple College has embarked upon a much needed expansion campaign in order to adequately serve its students and its community partners.

Area businesses and health institutions have experienced firsthand the continuously expanding capability of the workforce training programs provided by Temple College. In addition, Temple College has had a broad and positive impact upon Temple and nearby communities from the varied educational opportunities offered, especially through its programs in the Health Professions.

The recent partnership with Scott and White Memorial Hospital and the Texas A&M Medical School demonstrates the level of confidence and respect that the health care community has for Temple College.

Temple College has been recognized by other states through the honor received by Dr. Marc A. Nigliazzo as the recipient of the 2002 Western Region CEO Award from the Association of Community College Trustees. This demonstrates the level of respect and admiration that the Trustees of the Association in a multi-state region have for the dynamic leadership of the college.

To continue to serve the Temple community and its surrounding area, Temple College must move forward with its plan to strive for excellence.

The nation is in critical need of trained and qualified health care professionals. Temple College is actively addressing that need and is moving forward in many other areas. These areas include strong academic preparation, an intensive fine arts program, a new apartment complex unequaled in the state community college system, and an athletic program that boasts national, regional, and state titles.

The most exciting part is that our students leave the college prepared to participate fully in the workforce or to continue their education.
