Eligibility
Temple College's Business and Community Education classes are open to interested persons without regard to eligibility for admission to college-credit programs. Most courses do not require a high school diploma. Some classes do have pre-requisites, so be sure to check before registering. Classes are open to those who are interested without regard to gender, disability, race, color, age, religion, national origin or veteran status.
Community Education Units (CEU's)
A CEU is defined as "ten hours of participation in an organized continuing education, adult,

or extension experience under reasonable sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction." To determine if the course in which you are interested awards CEU's, please contact the Temple College Business & Community Education Office. Persons who participate in CEU-designated programs will have a permanent transcript. Regular attendance is required for CEU credit.
Credit vs. Non-Credit
Some classes can be offered as both credit and non-credit (concurrent or "mirror" classes). Preference will be given to credit students if a class is full.

Class Cancellation
It is important to complete the registration process at least 48 hours in advance of the course start date. Generally, an enrollment of ten students is required for a class to be offered. Classes with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled. The Business & Community Education Office makes every effort to notify students if a class will not be held due to insufficient enrollment. Refunds are processed automatically when TC cancels a class.
Refunds

A one hundred percent (100%) refund will be given if Temple College cancels the class. A full refund will also be granted if a student officially withdraws in writing through the Community Education Office prior to the second class meeting for classes that meet more than two sessions. For classes meeting only for one or two sessions, written withdrawals and requests for full refunds must be made prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be granted after these designated cut-off times.
Books and Supplies
Students will be notified at the first class meeting whether the course requires a textbook or supplies. If so, generally these may be purchased from Temple College Bookstore.
Directions and Parking
Most open-enrollment classes are held at Temple College - Downtown,

either in the Downtown Center on the northeast corner of Main and Adams or in the Business Training Center, at the southeast corner of the same intersection. Parking may be available on the street. Additional free parking may be found in the 2nd & Barton parking lot, courtesy of the First United Methodist Church.
Payment of Course Fees
To be assured a place in class, the course fee must be paid at least 48 hours in advance of the course start time.
