Jim Granfor, SPHR, is the Director of Human Resources for Materials Transportation Company, and has served in that role from 1988 -1991 and 1993 to present. During the period of 1991 to 1993 Mr. Granfor was the Engineering Manager for a Kraft Food subsidiary called All American Gourmet. Granfor has been the president of the local Central Texas Human Resource Management Association (CTHRMA) on three occasions. He is a past State Director for the Texas State Council overseeing approximately 6,000 chapter members in 35 chapters and an additional 7,000 SHRM non-chapter affiliated members throughout Texas. Mr. Granfor sits on various boards to include the Temple Chamber Military Affairs Committee, Central Texas Workforce Board, American Heart Association Board, Faith Based Institute Board, and other boards that support local, state, and national initiatives. His undergraduate degree is in Accounting and his Master’s degree is in Organizational Management. Jim is very committed to helping develop the HR knowledge and skills of HR professionals and anyone who oversees the work of others. He teaches the Temple College HR Management Academy and routinely makes engaging presentations to CHTRMA and other SHRM chapters. Jim resides in Temple, Texas with Dorothy, his spouse of 44+ years.
Dorothy Granfor, MS, SPHR, is the Sr. Human Resources Representative for Acer America Corporation in Temple, Texas. Dorothy has been in Human Resources Management with companies in the public and private sectors since 1993. She currently serves as a District Director on the Texas State Council for the Society of Human Resource Management and received her SPHR Certification in May of 1999. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Information Systems Management from Tarleton State University, a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with an emphasis in Human Resources Management (also from Tarleton State University), and an Associates Degree in Management from Temple College.
